Sharpening Scissors

My scissors are a few years old and getting dull. Is it worth sharpening them or time for a new pair?

Sharpening to be done by professionals only!

Although it is true that shears can be sharpened it is imperative to have them sharpened by a professional. This is to help insure the correct angle of sharpening so as to not negatively affect the slicing motion of the blades by having irregulary shaped blades. It is recommeded that one does not sharpen their shears more than twice during the lifetime of the shear in order to gaurantee proper cutting of the blades.

Keep your edge up

A good pair of scissors will last a lifetime. Sound like you haven't cared for yours very well though. I like to keep a stone in my pocket and give them a quick sharpen between cuts. I would recommend that you get them professionally sharpened to get your edge back. Then invest in a stone.
